Vibrant Green for Ordinary Time
I wanted to design something cheerful and was fortunate to come across this beautifully vibrant green at my favorite fabric shop. Playing against that backdrop I embroidered a cross freehand, playing with gold, pink and green. On the lower panels, I designed a bit of gathered leaves and very small beading detail on small crosses as visual fill.

Rustic Beadwork

Here is a little beadwork I framed up as a gift for a couple I care for and admire.... I was going for a rustic 'outsider art' look and think it looks better in person than the photo shows... Or I sure hope so! The silk has two tones to it, raspberry and blue, the beading is also of two colors and pops a bit when the frame is tilted. The embroidery is done in simple pale blue thread.

A rough sampler
I am trying a freestyle sampler as a relaxing tool, and it's working!! Here is the perle floss on dupioni... A tone on tone....In lavender...

-And here is what it looks like with a bit of a trim...

I like the effect, but I think it would really look better white on white and perhaps more of a lattice incorporated into it.. May try that in a bit for a white stole I am planning.... Will be leaving it on the frame to play with..

I just love this stole. The dupioni silk hangs just beautifully and has such depth of color....looks wonderful against black and white. The dove is hand applied and hand embroidered in silver thread and the rainbow ribbon is hand embroidered in a really rich egyptian rainbow hued cotton. I hope you enjoy it!!
